Default Membership and Security Access

ProjectTalk membership level works with security access in Security Manager to determine project access. Membership levels determine whether the user can open Project Management, Collaboration or both, while the security access determines whether the user can log on to a project from these applications.

Security Manager determines either a Collaboration or Project Management login type for project access. A Collaboration login type enables the user to log on to a project in Collaboration, while a Project Management login type enables the user to log on to a project using Project Management or Collaboration.

In Security Manager, if a user is assigned a lower login type than the ProjectTalk membership level, the user will not be able to access the project based on the higher ProjectTalk membership level.
EXAMPLE: The user is assigned a Collaboration login type for a project, but has Project Management membership. This user will only be able to access the project in Collaboration.

Similarly, if a user is assigned a lower ProjectTalk membership level than the Security Manager login type, the user will not be able to access the project based on the higher Security Manager login type.
EXAMPLE: The user is assigned a Project Management login type for a project, but has Collaboration membership. This user will only be able to access the project in Collaboration. The Project Management icon will appear as locked.
